The Golden Dildeaux Awards are coming!

- On February 10, we held a SOMA Second Saturday! Game Day, indoors at the Folsom Center.
- We played "Kiinko", "South of the Slot", "Freedom of Speech" and "Kinko Dare."
- There were refreshments, prizes, fun conversations, and even a little nudity!
- There will be no SOMA Second Saturday event in March.
- The next SOMA Second Saturday will be April 13, 2024.

- A new park is being built at 11th and Natoma Streets, half a block from the LEATHER & LGBTQ Cultural District.
- The Rec and Parks Department is soliciting community input into naming the park.
- We proposed the park be named after Rachele Sullivan, one of the founders of our Cultural District and a prominent figure in SOMA's Filipino community.
- Other LEATHER & LGBTQ related proposals are naming the park after:
- Heklina, a founder of Oasis, and
- Jim Meko, a community activist nominated by board member emeritus and District historian Gayle Rubin.
- Please take this survey and vote for Rachele, Heklina and Jim Meko as your top three choices!
- Join the community meeting on March 7, at 6 pm for the survey results. Register here.
- The LEATHER & LGBTQ Cultural District is seeking new voices and new faces as we move into 2024.
- Our work is focused on preserving the history and culture of the leather community in SOMA while uplifting the businesses, residents, and artists in SOMA, in the leather and kink communities, and in San Francisco at large.
- We have several committees and projects which are available for you to volunteer for, including:
- Fundraising (e.g. planning for LeatherWalk 2024)
- Arts and Culture (e.g. murals, art shows)
- Event staff (e.g. for SOMA Second Saturdays)
- Communications and Marketing
- Membership and Diversity (e.g. recruiting new community leaders)
- Operations Support
- Folks with various levels of experience, expertise, or time availability are all welcome.
